After 60 minutes walking mainly of unspoiled groves of almonds and carob trees through "el coll de Vilallarga", "les Sorts", and "el fosquet" you may choose walk up to a hill called "Coll dels Cocons" that in the medieval had a stone quarry where still today there are the latest works ready to finish. During it's path you can enjoy huge views of "el Plà de la Galera" and "Els Ports".
After 10 minutes more walking behind "les pedreres" you can get to "El plà de Cap d'Asens" where you can enjoy some views of Ulldecona, el Delta del Ebre and Penyiscola. It is an unspoiled area that can show how life was in this area long time ago. From there you can get back to the village or follow a path down to l'Ermita de la Pietat.
It was supposed to be a renewed cemetery out of the village due to several epidemics of cholera were killing hundreds of neighbours around 1830. But the ones who built it didn't realise that the plot was full of stones so it was not possible to dig easily. After a while a new cemetery was built up far away where the quality of land was supposed to be excellent. There are 10 quarry crosses around a wall coming from the old times where tombs where next to the church inside the village.
Walking through an ancient route of "la via Augusta" between an old neighbourhood of "El mas de Merades" or "La Millana" you will find several groves of ancient Olive trees. It is said the old ones have been planted during roman times and today still made the best olive oil."L'Arion" is an olive grove where trees are explained and is ready to visit.
If you hike up to "el Coll de Vilaestrets", you are following a path to "la Bassa Alta" and there you can choose between going to "el Bosc de Grisanto" and the cave of "el Salt" or follow an old path to "la Roca Alta" to finish in the castle hill. There you can see some walls and how others were transformed into heavy stone margins. It looks like after a huge dedication of its farmers the land was abandoned for unproductive.
You are looking to what it was the favourite water spring by elder people of the village, specially to celebrate easter lunch before getting to "Ermita de la Pietat" down the plain of Cap d'Asens. Today as the source has sparingly water the place remains as it was in the past.
