"L'Era" It was the name of the old place and it had a barn and a shed for wheat and carobs where the family beat its own production  around Saint John's night.

Around 1885 Isidre Vilalbí was the mayor of the village as being part of the local farmers group called  "Carlistes". For them: " God, nation and king" were his main slogan.

"L'hort".  In 1915 the construction of a well transformed the place into a family orchard. Agusti Villalbí decided to dig a well in order to find water so once he found it they transformed the old wheat lands in a productive orchard with  vineyards.

In 1936 Agusti Villalbí was murdered by some neighbours for being the village's priest and his orchard was part of the anarquist seized lands runned until 1939 by the village anarchist commons.

During 1960 and 1970. The decline of the farm prices changed the main purpouse of the farm into a place to enjoy the spare time of the family and its warm summer hollidays.

In 1976 Josep Villalbí decided to transform the old shed and barns next to a well into a cosy mediterranean summer's house.

From 2000  Rosa Maria Villalbí adapted the house into her home until she unexpectedly died in spring 2013

About Us.

Hort Casa Villalbí has been a family plot since over 3 hundred years. In 1793 Salvador Villalbí bought a barn next to the farm so we belive the family was owner of the plot from over that date. Since then 4 Joseps, 3 Miquels, Isidre, Rosa  and Agusti have been sons and owners of the farm being part of the same   farmers's family branch called in the past as "els Josepots".
